Low crops production is considered to be the main reason for poverty and food insecurity and one way to combat this is for the government to to direct it’s attention to the application of biotechnology, which can help increase crops yield through introducing high-yielding crop varieties resistant to environmental stress, reduce pest– associated losses; and increase the nutritional values of foods. Doing this will help create more food to feed today’s hungry people and for future generations .
